The New Normal: Social Distancing Parties
The COVID-19 pandemic changed the way we celebrate parties and special events. It’s not the traditional parties we got used to, but we welcome the new normal we call social distancing parties. It’s not something we got used to, but trying these new ideas are actually pretty exciting.
Here at Party Yard Grand Rapids, we are ready to adapt to the new normal and cater to your party sign needs. That is why we have some ideas on how you can safely host a party with social distancing.
Fun & Safe Social Distancing Party Ideas
We observe social distancing for parties to prevent the be safe and follow the local health protocols, but it doesn’t mean it can’t be fun, right? We recommend placing it outdoors and in wide-open spaces. Here are some ideas you can do the next time you have to celebrate a special occasion.
Food: Prepare pre-packed foods and disposable utensils. Choose deserts like a popsicle, or place them in a separate plate or cup.
Invitations: Since it’s hard to personally drop-off invitations, you can send e-invitations online. Always ask your guest to RSVP to the event, and make sure to advise those who are sick to stay at home.
Sanitation: Provide a sanitation station complete with extra masks, alcohol, hand sanitizer, a wash station if possible, and disposable gloves when preparing the food.
Protocols: Since direct contact is not allowed, advise your guests to skip the embracing and kissing part.
Games: Organize games that can be played six feet away from each other while still wearing masks.
Entertainment: Yes, you can still avail of the services of magicians or other entertainers for as long as social distancing is still observed.
Signages or Party Signs: Don’t forget to place health protocol signages like “Wear your mask at all times” or “Observe social distancing.” The fun idea is to use these signages as part of your decoration.
Who would think of using health protocol signs as decorations? Maybe you can even use party signs as social distancing marks. You can place cupcake cut-outs from Party Yard Grand Rapids and strategically place them six feet apart. Then place a sign that says, “Fall in line on the cupcakes.” Isn’t it a fun idea?
Another fun party idea during this ‘new normal era’ is a drive-by or drive-thru party. A drive-by party is where you invite your guests to drive-by your house, give them pre-packed foods and party favors while they express their warm greetings, and give their presents. Place big yard signs with custom messages, and make the experience interactive. You can place a ‘drop your gift station’ or ‘write your greetings board’ during the drive-by.
If you want to surprise a birthday celebrant, you can have a drive-by party. Place party signs, balloons, and decorations in your car and go on a convoy. But make sure to avoid honking your as this may be disturbing for some people. Party Yard Grand Rapids can provide you party signs and decorations you can place in your car to pull-off this successful surprise drive-by parade.
A drive-thru party is where the celebrant visits the houses of these friends and drops food or party favors. Make it a fun experience by putting party signs on top of your car like “Birthday girl” and couple it with some balloons and other fun decorations. Now, this is something unique and will definitely become an unforgettable experience.
